Join us on Thursday, September 28 at the library for an overview of the Medicare program by Kristi Bates from GeorgiaCares, the independent Medicare experts. You will learn about the different parts of Medicare, supplemental insurance & advantage plans, resources to assist in choosing a plan, how to save money on prescriptions, and more. Whether you are just approaching Medicare age or have been using Medicare for years, this program will offer up-to-date information to help you get the most out of your health insurance benefits. After the presentation, there will be time to meet one-on-one with a GeorgiaCares counselor.
Ms Bates grew up in Atlanta, and moved to Athens to attend the University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude in 2013 with a B.S. in Psychology. She works at the Athens Community Council on Aging as the GeorgiaCares Coordinator, a program that offers free, unbiased information about Medicare. She has been with the ACCA since June 2015 and is fluent in Medicare’s complexities. Kristi and a team of volunteers provide one-on-one counseling and group education & outreach to Medicare beneficiaries in twelve counties of Northeast Georgia.
